Infrastructure projects for three 750-megawatt combined cycle gas power plants

On April 17, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, chaired a meeting with the delegation of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) led by EVN's Vice President, Nguyen Tai Anh. 
They discussed the land acquisition of infrastructure construction project for three 750-megawatt combined cycle gas power plants in Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province.
Reportedly, three 750-megawatt combined cycle gas power plants - the Dung Quat I and the Dung Quat II owned by EVN and the Dung Quat II invested by Semcorp Group - will sit on a total area of 93,5 hectares in Binh Thanh Commune, Binh Son district.
Currently, the units are carrying out a number of works related to infrastructure for the above plants.
According to the report of the Binh Son District People's Committee, it has so far directed relevant agencies to complete the inventory and impose compensation prices, issue land acquisition decisions, and approve compensation and support plans.
In the coming time, the District People's Committee will continue to direct specialized agencies under the district and local authorities to focus resources on coordinating with the investor to solve shortcomings and problems to implement the tasks as planned.
At the meeting, leaders of Binh Son District People's Committee and some affiliated units presented the shortcomings and problems in the process of compensation and proposed appropriate solutions.
Representatives of some provincial departments also provided information and explained some contents related to the project.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, assigned the Binh Son District People's Committee to actively coordinate with the Department of Natural Resources and Environment to develop a resolution plan for each specific problem related to the project.
They will submit it to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration and settlement as soon as possible.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Authority of Dung Quat Economic Zone and Provincial Industrial Parks to closely coordinate with Binh Son District People's Committee and communes located in the project area.
