Quang Ngai History

Quang Ngai archaeologists have found many artifacts about the Stone Age, proving that this land once inhabited by humans and has the presence of a civilization since ancient times.

Quang Ngai is the first discovery place, also the cradle of Sa Huynh culture - culture, dating back to 2,500-3,000 years ago, with very rich relics in Sa Huynh, Thanh Duc, Ly Son.

Following the Sa Huynh Culture is the Champa culture with the architecture of Chau Sa citadel, the large-scale Chanh Lo tower, with its own style, along with many other relics and relics dating back thousands of years.

Following Champa, Vietnamese culture became the mainstream of multi-ethnic culture, continuing to develop from the 15th century onwards.

In the intersection and transition with the Champa culture, the cultural exchange with the ethnic groups indigenous to the mountains are the Hre, Cor, and Ca Dong, and some other ethnic groups have molded this land a rather unique cultural nuance, contributing to enriching the cultures of the ethnic groups of Vietnam.

The ethnic groups in Quang Ngai are Vietnamese people. Through challenges in the harsh natural and social environment, the Quang Ngai people have forged themselves more rigidity, flexibility, not only endurance, but also enough will, energy, and creativity to reform natural variables, building society better and better.

In the eighteenth century, with Binh Dinh, Quang Ngai made significant contributions to defeat the Xiem and great destruction of the Thanh.

In the early twentieth century, Quang Ngai marked Vietnam's history with the strong and active activities of Duy Tan Hoi, with patriotic scholars Le Dinh Can, Nguyen Ba Loan, and Le Tuu Khiet.

The first Secretary of the Party Committee of Quang Ngai province, comrade Nguyen Nghiem, died, but the revolutionary struggle for national liberation continued to develop.

Quang Ngai was the place where the early General uprising took place in the country (August 14, 1945) and became the cradle of the Inter-Region V free zone during the war against the French.

During the resistance war against the US, to save the country, Quang Ngai had important events such as the Tra Bong uprising and western Quang Ngai in 8.1959, the Ba Gia Victory on May 31, 1965, the Victory over Van Tuong 18.8.1965.

At the same time, Quang Ngai was also a place that suffered many injuries and losses, typically the Son My massacre on March 16, 1968.

Through the wars of national defense, Quang Ngai has appeared many examples of sacrificing for the country, forging many talented leaders and generals, such as Nguyen Chanh, Tran Van Tra, Pham Kiet Tran Quy Hai, Tran Nam Trung, Nguyen Don ... and notably comrade Pham Van Dong, who devoted his life to the revolution and left a deep imprint in the cause of the Vietnamese revolution during many decades of the twentieth century.
