The 9th stage of HTV Cup 2023 starts in Quang Ngai

On April 11, in Quang Ngai City, the 9th stage of the 35th National Cycling Tournament, Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup 2023 was taken place.

In the 9th stage, the team race timed through Co Luy bridge - the first cable-stayed bridge of Quang Ngai province, with an impressive design spanning the Tra Khuc river, belonging to the coastal route of Dung Quat - Sa Huynh.

At this stage, the racers will compete at a distance of 32km, starting from Hoang Sa Street, Tinh Long Commune (Quang Ngai City) through the roundabout of Co Luy Bridge in Nghia Phu Commune (Quang Ngai City). This is a race with many important meanings, greatly affecting the final results of the individual and team leaderboards.

With good preparation and physical strength, at the end of the race, Loc Troi Group's team excellently won the 9th stage. Teams of HCMC New Group, HCM City Vinama finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The nation's largest cycling tournament, the HCM City Television (HTV) Cup has been started on April 2, and will finish at the city's Independence Palace on Reunification Day on April 30.

In its 35th edition, 11 teams and 98 cyclists will race 25 stages through 31 cities and provinces from north to south.

According to the organisation board, more than VND 2 billion (US$84,600) would be awarded to the best cyclists. The overall winner of the 2023 HTV Cup will receive VNĐ200 million.

The best sprinter and 'King of the Mountain' will earn VND 50 million each, while the best young rider will take VND 30 million. The stage winner will also secure VND 20 million.
