Strengthening prevention of monkeypox

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has just directed agencies, units and localities to strengthen the prevention of monkeypox disease in the province area. 
Accordingly, localities are required to strictly follow the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 680/CD-TTg dated August 1, 2022 on strengthening the prevention of monkeypox; direction of the Provincial People's Committee in Official Dispatch No. 3857/UBND-KGVX dated August 3, 2022 and the instructions of the Ministry of Health on monitoring and prevention of monkeypox.
The Department of Health strictly implements disease surveillance at medical examination and treatment facilities and in the community for early detection and prevention; hold training sessions for health staffs at all levels.
Increasing activities to raise public awareness of preventive measures has also been recommended.
Review and update plans, response scenarios, and drills according to situations in order to be ready for the epidemic outbreak. Prepare drugs, equipment and human resources for medical examination and treatment.
When a positive case of monkeypox is detected, the locality involved is required to conduct contact tracing and quarantine to prevent the epidemic from spreading in the community.
