World Vision VN introduces 02 new programs in Trà Bồng and Ba Tơ

Plan to open 02 new Regional Programs

On September 08, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien received and worked with the delegation of World Vision Vietnam to discuss the Survey and Design Plan of the Regional Programs in Tra Bong and Ba To districts.

At the meeting, according to Mrs. Than Thi Ha - Operational Director of World Vision Programs in Vietnam, since 1997, the Regional Program and special projects have been implemented in 14 provinces and cities nationwide with about 2.5 million children in Vietnam benefiting directly and indirectly through programs and projects. Over the past 30 years, World Vision Vietnam has sponsored Vietnam about US $500 million.

In Quang Ngai, the WVVN's Regional Development Program has been being implemented in the mountainous districts of the province including Tra Bong (2004-2019), Son Tay (2006-2021) and Minh Long (2010-2025) through technical Programs such as Health and Nutrition, Child Protection, Sustainable Livelihoods.

According to the plan to open a new Regional Programs in Tra Bong and Ba To districts, the survey and design phase will be implemented in September and October 2023 with the purpose of understanding the community and reality status of child welfare issues; determine suitability for opening a Regional Program.

After completing the Survey phase, World Vision Vietnam will conduct a Design activity to develop a design framework and Regional Program Plan for the period (2024-2027). It is expected that, the Design activities will be implemented in October 2023.

Committed to effective implement Regional Programs

After listening to the presentation of WVVN on the Plan to open new Regional Programs in Tra Bong and Ba To districts, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Phien thanked and highly appreciated the effectiveness of the deployed Regional Programs in the province and believed that the opening of new Regional Programs will help the two localities have more opportunities to improve the welfare of children and community.

The PPC’s Vice Chairman requested relevant agencies and 02 districts of Tra Bong and Ba To to coordinate closely with World Vision Vietnam in order to organize and better implement the activities of the Regional Programs in the area in the upcoming time.
