The total area of Ly Son island is about 10km2, of which the Little island, also known as An Binh island, has an area of only 0.69km2, located 7km from the Big island.

Big island and Little island are both inhabited, but Mu Cu island is not. The scenery on Mu Cu island is very impressive because of its wildness. It therefore attracts a large number of tourists.

Belonging to the Central Coast region, Ly Son Island has the basic characteristics of a deep-water beach with white sand, golden sunshine and surrounded by magnificent lava walls.

Volcanic rocks

The island is formed from 5 extinct volcanoes and has a bowl shape, which is a consequence of volcanic eruptions. In addition, there are very special landscapes such as To Vo gate or caves.

Thoi Loi Mountain is the highest mountain on Ly Son island with a height of 170 meters above sea level. Thoi Loi is one of five extinct volcanoes on the island. This is also an ideal sightseeing place on the island because of its height and beautiful view.

Over millions of years, the foot of the mountain has been eroded by sea water

Wonderful things in Ly Son

Ly Son is known as the "garlic kingdom" with a total agricultural land area of about 550 hectares.  . Ly Son garlic is grown on sand fields. Limited irrigation water sources combined with salty sea breezes do not hinder the growth of garlic. This, in contrast,  gives Ly Son garlic its unique flavor. Ly Son garlic has a high essential oil content, serving as both a spice and a valuable source of medicinal herbs.
