To ensure power supply

07/06/2021 16:25    264

Quang Ngai currently has three power generation sources, including on-site diesel power plant; solar power; small and medium hydroelectricity.

They include two solar power plants in Binh Nguyen (49MWp), Mo Duc (19MWp) and rooftop solar power system, with a total capacity of 164,504 kWp. Sources from hydroelectricity have 10 operating hydropower plants, with a total design capacity of nearly 300MW.

Therefore, compared to the dry season of previous years, this year's electricity is said to be more abundant.

The peak season for generating solar power

Analysis of electricity sources shows that it is currently the dry season - the peak season for generating electricity from solar power.

Therefore, the power generation capacity from this power source will reach its peak capacity, with an estimate on sunny days, the capacity will reach 80-90%.

In addition to connecting to the grid system of the electricity industry, there are still many households installing rooftop solar power to serve the needs of their families.

According to Director of Quang Ngai Electricity Company Mr Le Hoang Anh Dung, the load in the hot season in 2021 will increase by 10% compared to the same period last year.

The power sector has developed plans to improve the reliability of power supply; increase investment in construction of anti-overload works and meet the load growth in each region; ensure safe and stable power supply.

Hydropower plants ensure power source

The water source accumulated from the rainy season at the end of 2020 is quite abundant, the capacity of hydropower plants with reservoirs such as Dakđrinh (125MW), Dakre (60MW) , Son Tra (60MW), Ha Nang (11MW), Nuoc Trong (16.5MW) are mostly generating at large capacity.

A representative of Dakđrinh Hydropower Joint Stock Company said that in the dry season this year, the situation of power generation has many advantages.

In May, the plant generates a capacity of 70-80%. In the coming days, due to the requirements of water regulation in downstream areas to combat drought, the power generation capacity will increase from time to time.

At present, the amount of water stored in the lake is still high, plus rainstorms bring the additional water to the reservoir on average about 10 m3/s. Water is abundant, so the plant can reach its designed capacity, if required by the power industry.

According to the representative of Son Tra Hydropower Plant, this is a terraced hydropower plant. The water source for power generation depends on the Thuong Kon Tum Hydropower Plant.

For many years, Son Tra hydropower plant has only operated in moderation because Thuong Kon Tum hydropower plant has not been built yet.

On March 3, 2021, Thuong Kon Tum hydropower plant was officially put into operation, releasing water for Son Tra hydropower plant.

Currently, water returns to the reservoir on average 30 m3/s reaches designed capacity.
