The Supervisory Board of the provincial People's Council worked with DoLISA and DoH on occupational safety and health

As reported, DoLISA in collaboration with the Provincial Health Inspection Center and the provincial Social Insurance organized 09 training courses for 400 enterprises with more than 3,000 participants on main contents of labor accident insurance and occupational diseases.

The work of inspecting OSH has been actively implemented regularly in the province. Thereby, functional forces have implemented administrative fines for 43 enterprises, with a total fine of more than VND 320 million.

In the 2016-2019 period, DoH in collaboration with the DoLISA participated in investigating 50 occupational accidents with 49 deaths and 5 seriously injured. Over 4 years, more than 12,000 workers in the province have had health checks for occupational diseases.

Besides, the implementation of the law and policy on OSH in the province is still limited and difficult. Specifically, the reporting on the situation of occupational accidents of enterprises in the labor relations area is still low. 

At the meeting, DoLISA and DoH made a number of recommendations on strengthening coordination and support among departments and agencies in promoting stronger state management of OSH and sanctions strictly for violations of OSH.

After listening to the reports of the two Departments, the Supervisory Board of the Provincial People's Council requested the units to supplement and complete the detailed reports on implementation of the OSH policy. These reports must be completed within 15 days, and will be the basis for reporting in the upcoming provincial People's Council meeting and proposing to the National Assembly to amend and supplement Law on Occupational Safety and Health to suit the reality.
