The PPC convenes regular meeting in April 2024

The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincila People’s Committee, Tran Hoang Tuan, and Vice Chairmen Vo Phien, Tran Phuoc Hien co-chaired the PPC’s regular meeting on May 6 to discuss the socio-economic situation in April and the first four months, and set tasks for May 2024. 
Reported by the Department of Planning and Investment, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in April 2024 increased by 0.81% over the previous month, up 3.76% over the same period in 2023. In the first 4 months of the year, CPI increased by 2.85% over the same period last year.

Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue in April increased by 2.21% over the previous month and by 8.06% over the same period.
Seafood output in April increased by 6.2% over the same period; It is estimated that in the first 4 months, seafood production increased by 2.5% over the same period last year.

By April 30, 2024, disbursement of public investment capital reached 19.7% of the assigned capital plan.
Total state budget revenue in the province in April 2024 was estimated to reach 2,397 billion VND. Accumulated revenue in the first 4 months of 2024 was 11,073 billion VND, up 20.2% over the same period and reached 43.3% of the year plan.

Besides the achieved results, there are still some limitations and difficulties such as the decreased industrial production index, difficulties in attracting domestic and foreign investment, and late compensation and site clearance work in some localities.

Standing Vice Chairman of the PPC Tran Hoang Tuan requested the departments, sectors and localities to focus on effectively implementing the directions of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Party Standing Committee on key tasks and solutions to promote socio-economic development.
Tuan also asked all agencies and units to fully prepare the contents for submitting to the Provincial People's Council (13rd term) at the regular meeting in mid-2024.
Tuan requested departments, sectors and localities to focus on evaluating the situation of finance, budget and public investment plan
It’s neccessary to manage state budget expenditures tightly, economically and effectively, Tuan added.
Besides, they need to focus on accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital in 2024 and effectively deploy three National Target Programs in the province.
He also asked relevant agencies to urgently complete the Project to develop Ly Son island district into a sea and island tourism center.
