Sustainable forestry development program for the period of 2021-2025

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 86/KH-UBND to implement the Sustainable Forestry Development Program for the period of 2021-2025 in the province.
The plan sets out the objectives of good management and protection of the existing forest area and the annual increase in forest areas.
It targeted to promote regeneration about 4,618 turns of ha; plant 7,295 hectares of new trees, equivalent to 14,507 million trees, to contribute to achieving and maintaining a stable 52% forest coverage rate by 2025.
The plan focuses on key tasks:
Protect well the area of protection forests, existing natural production forests and increasing forest areas in the 2021-2025 period, especially for 106,671.55 ha of natural forest and 109.08 ha of mangrove forest.
Strengthen patrolling, sweeping and protecting forests; regularly inspect and promptly prevent violations of the Law on Forestry; well perform forest fire prevention and fighting; raise awareness, roles and responsibilities of forest owners and commune-level People's Committees in forest protection in particular and all people in the province in general; mobilize maximum social resources for forest protection.
Protect forests, conserve biodiversity in special-use forests, protection forests and production forests which are natural forests in order to improve biodiversity for forests.
Improve forest productivity and quality; develop production afforestation according to raw material areas in association with the province's wood and forest product processing factories.
Promote the planting of over 1 million new trees scattered in rural and urban areas according to the target of the implementation plan of the Prime Minister's Project on planting one billion trees in Quang Ngai province.
Develop models of growing medicinal plants under the forest canopy in association with forest protection and forest development.
Organize effective and sustainable management and exploitation of 100% of planted production forests.
Develop the forest product processing industry in association with restructuring the forestry sector towards commodity production, increasing added value, sustainable development and international economic integration.
