Quang Ngai strives to reduce poor and near-poor households

Quang Ngai province curently has about 53,000 poor and near-poor households. The province is looking for ways to help these households get out of poverty. 
According to Quang Ngai Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, by the end of 2022, the province had more than 29,200 poor households, accounting for 7.8% and more than 23,800 near-poor households, accounting for 6.36%.
In which, the total number of poor households unable to work is more than 8,667 households, accounting for 29.65%. Particularly in mountainous districts, there are 3,244 households.
The Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs is coordinating with agencies, units and localities to actively advise the Provincial People's Committee to direct a number of contents relating to training, guiding the general review of poor and near-poor households, as well as focus on solutions to support specific poor object.
It is known that in 2022, Quang Ngai province allocated more than VND 267 billion to the implementation of the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the province.
For 2023, the total development investment capital assigned to implement the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in the province is more than VND 126 billion.
