Quang Ngai province - one of the localities with the largest number of fishing vessels in the country is gradually transforming towards sustainable fishing. Quang Ngai province is reducing the number of fishing vessels, strictly controlling the issuance of fishing permits and quotas.
So far, the province has reduced from 5,700 to nearly 4,300 fishing boats with 3,147 fishing vessels with a length of 15m or more. The localities prohibit the use of destructive fishing gear, arrange the number of fishing means in accordance with reality and fishing grounds.

In the marine economic development strategy, Quang Ngai identifies fisheries as a spearhead industry. The fishing vessels of Quang Ngai province is developing in the direction of gradually reducing the number of small capacity ships and gradually increasing the number of large capacity ships. The quality of the ship is controlled.
As plan, by 2025, Quang Ngai province will maintain the fishing output at 260,000 tons/year; Structure of fishing boats in the direction of gradually reducing the number of fishing boats in coastal and inland waters.
