Prime Minister directed to control the new variant Omicron

The Government Office has just issued Official Letter No. 8706/VPCP-KGVX dated November 29, 2021 conveying the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the control of the new vảiant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus Omicron. 
Recently, the world has recorded a new variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus Omicron and is spreading rapidly to many countries around the world.
In order to proactively control and fight epidemics, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh requested the Ministry of Health to actively follow the situation of the epidemic caused by the new variant Omicron; regularly contact with the World Health Organization to update information about this strain as well as propose appropriate and effective measures to prevent and control the epidemic.
The Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Public Security, the Ministry of National Defense and relevant ministries and agencies, according to their assigned functions and tasks, direct functional units to strengthen control of visitors from and go through countries that have recorded new cases of Omicron entering Vietnam in order to prevent the risk of spreading this variant into Vietnam.
