PPC’s vice chairman Tran Phuoc Hien urges localities to manage effectively clean water construction works

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien chaired a meeting with departments, branches and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to give opinions on management, use and exploitation of urban clean water and rural clean water infrastructure assets. 
According to a report by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the whole province currently has 513 water plants.
However, the management and operation of the project is not done well, ineffective and unsustainable.
Of these, 471 projects are inactive and operating unsustainably. Only 42 projects operate stably and relatively sustainably.
The reason is due to many shortcomings in management and construction investment.
People's awareness of clean water has increased, but there are still limitations in the use and preservation of works.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien asked localities to develop plans to immediately overcome shortcomings and problems in the process of investment, management and operation of clean water projects.
At the same time, it is necessary to research the establishment of a cooperative model to manage clean water projects locally; promote propaganda work so that people can see their benefits and responsibilities in using centralized clean water sources.
The Department of Finance guides localities and units in completing procedures and documents for State management of assigned clean water infrastructure assets.
Mountainous districts have many reservoir and dam systems, so planning to re-evaluate reservoirs in the area.
They are requested to calculate the conversion of functions of lakes to both serve water for agricultural production and provide clean water for people for sustainability.
