Plan to improve and upgrade the provincial Green Index

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued Plan No. 151/KH-UBND on improving and upgrading the Provincial Green Index (PGI). 
The plan targets to upgrade the PGI of Quang Ngai province from the position of 33 to 23 out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
It strives to improve the score of the PGI component indexes from 14.64 points to 15.10 points, an increase of 0.46 points compared to 2022.
To achieve the goal, the plan sets out tasks and solutions to improve PGI's component indexes.
They include 04 components: (i)environmental pollution reduction and negative impacts of climate change; (ii) assurance of compliance with minimum environmental standards; (iii) promotion of green practices; (iv) policies and services to support businesses in environmental protection.
It is reported that at the Announcement Ceremony of Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) 2022 held on April 11, 2023, the Vietnam Federation of Trade and Industry (VCCI) and the United States Agency for International Development in Vietnam (USAID) announced the Provincial Green Index (PGI).
Accordingly, the PGI index in 2022 of Quang Ngai province reached 14.60 points, ranking 33 out of 63 provinces and cities in the country.
