More than 23.86 million USD invested in the project of modernization of irrigation to adapt to climate change in Quang Ngai province

The project's objective is to enhance resilience to drought and climate change; improve irrigation efficiency for agricultural restructuring towards increasing added value and sustainable development. irrigation systems through investment in irrigation modernization; improve the efficiency of irrigation management services, new techniques and operation of the irrigation system.

Accordingly, Quang Ngai province will invest in upgrading and modernizing 28 canals belonging to Thach Nham irrigation works, 08 pumping stations.

It will modernize equipment for operating and closing sluice gates, overflowing and discharging floods and applying information technology in irrigation management and administration in order to reduce operating costs, effectively control water resources, increase coefficient water use in the whole system will reach over 80% by 2030,...

The project has a total investment of 23.86 million USD (equivalent to 553,998 billion VND), of which ADB's concessional loan (OCR) is 19.02 million USD (equivalent to 441.684 billion VND); non-refundable aid of USD 0.3 million (equivalent to VND 6,966 billion); counterpart capital 105,348 billion VND (equivalent to 4,536 million USD).

The implementation period is from June 2022 to June 2026.
