Japan funds new classrooms to Pho Thuan Primary school in Duc Pho district

The Japanese government will provide a non-refundable aid of US$ 84,588, equivalent to 1.9 billion VND to upgrade Pho Thuan primary school in Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province.
The signing ceremony for the grant contract was held in Hanoi on 10 December 2019.
The two-storey classroom row with four rooms, an area of 172.8m2 shall be constructed using aforementioned funds from Japan.
It aims to improve studying conditions for students in Pho Thuan commune, Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province.
The project is under Japan’s “Grassroots Grant Assistant Programme” in Việt Nam in fiscal year 2019. Four other small-scale projects in 11 provinces and cities are also under this program.
Reportedly, the Japan’s Grassroots Grant Assistance Programme launched in 1992 and has provided a total grant up to USD 54 million to about 650 projects in Vietnam.
The program aims to realize effective projects which bring high benefits to local people and contribute to enhancing friendship and mutual understanding between the two countries as well.
In Quang Ngai, a grant of 76,000 USD under this program was also provided to Son Mau Commune to upgrade a 700-metre road connecting two hamlets in the commune.
