Evaluating the implementation of new rural construction in the period of 2021-2025

According to the New Rural Development Plan for the period of 2021-2025, 31 communes in the province are planned to meet new rural standards.

Up to now, 5 out of 31 communes have been recognized as new rural standards, reaching the rate of 16.13% compared to the plan. 

According to local departments and agencies, the implementation of new rural development in the period of 2021-2025 faces more difficulties compared with that in the previous period.

The new set of rural criteria requires a higher level, while the communes planned to reach the new rural destination of the province in this period are mostly extremely difficult communes (24/31 communes) in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. 

Some criteria and indicators are not suitable for regional characteristics of localities, especially mountainous communes. These include the percentage of households using clean water, multidimensional poverty rate, income, education, school, and health.

Resources for the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development in the period of 2021-2025 are low compared to actual needs.

Mountainous communes with natural and socio-economic conditions still face many difficulties, requiring a huge concentration of resources to accomplish the goals.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, assessed that Quang Ngai province has achieved significant results in the implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Development in the province in the period of 2021-2025.

However, new rural development in this period still faces many difficulties. Therefore, the number of new rural communes is unachievable compared with the target set forth for the period. 

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is directed to coordinate with concerned departments and localities to review and evaluate in detail each content and unachieved criteria, shortcomings and limitations of communes and districts.

The Provincial People's Committee will have solutions to direct implementation in the coming time to achieve the set goals. 

Hien also requested localities accelerate the implementation and disbursement of funds for the implementation of the New Rural Construction Program assigned by the Provincial People's Committee in accordance with the prescribed time.

He asked them to continue to strengthen propaganda and mobilize the people to actively participate in building new rural areas in their localities.
