Establishing a biodiversity conservation project in Quang Ngai province funded by FFI

In his newly document promulgated, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has approved the policy of establishing a biodiversity conservation project in Quang Ngai province funded by Fauna & Flora International (FFI) - Vietnam Programme. 
As assigned, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for coordinating with the FFI Vietnam Programme detailing the project document on Biodiversity Conservation in Quang Ngai province, and sending it to the PPC for consideration after the FFI is authorized to add an additional operating area in Quang Ngai province.
The Chairman also requested the Departments of Foreign Affairs, Planning and Investment and relevant agencies to coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in organizing, negotiating and signing with FFI Vietnam Programme on the project.
FFI is an international conservation charity and non-governmental organization dedicated to protecting the planet's threatened wildlife and habitats. Operated in Vietnam since 1997, FFI has focused on the conservation of Vietnam's indigenous primates through partnerships with government agencies and local communities.
As planned, the Biodiversity Conservation Project in Quang Ngai has a funding of 100,000 USD in 2023 and is expected at 220,000 USD for 2024 - 2025.
Previously, in 2022, the provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development coordinated with the FFI to investigate and detect the gray-shanked douc langurs (Pygathrix cinerea) in Ba To district, Quang Ngai province.
