Ensure food safety in seafood production and trading

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to:

• Direct affiliated units to strictly manage establishments subject to the issuance of Certificates of food safety eligibility;

• Strictly carry out the appraisal, assessment and issuance of Certificates of food safety eligibility;

• Develop plans for periodic inspection and monitoring of food safety conditions as prescribed in Circulars of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development No. 38/2018/TT-BNNPTNT dated December 25, 2018 and No. 32/2022/TT-BNNPTNT dated December 30, 2022;

• Periodically report contents related to assigned fields, decentralized management according to regulations.

• Strengthen the inspection, examination and handling of responsibilities in the enforcement of the law on agricultural, forestry and fishery food safety management for subordinate agencies and units;

• Especially for the performance of the tasks of state management of aquaculture, exploitation, procurement and preliminary processing of aquatic products;

• Organize verification, traceability and strictly handle violations of food safety in accordance with the provisions of law (including applying measures to suspend operations, deprive licenses, publicize violations...),

• Immediately implement preventive measures,  handle violations.

The chairman assigned the provincial police to proactively grasp the situation, detect, investigate and handle violators in production and business activities using banned chemicals and antibiotics in agricultural production.

The Provincial Border Guard Command proactively collects information, investigates, verifies and dismantles production and trading lines of banned chemicals and antibiotics in agricultural production.

The Provincial Market Management Agency shall inspect, supervise and handle violations in the production and trading activities of using banned chemicals and antibiotics in agricultural production.

The Departments of Health, Industry and Trade will actively coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to implement the quality management and safety of agriculture, forestry and fishery.

People's Committees of communes, wards and townships shall strengthen the management of agricultural, forestry and fishery food safety according to assignment and decentralization.

They are requested to proactively coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to strictly handle cases of violations of food safety in accordance with the provisions of law.
