Announcement of forest status in 2022

Provincial People's Committee has just issued Decision No. 165/QD-UBND announcing the forest status of Quang Ngai province until December 31, 2022. 
According to the above decision, as of December 31, 2022, the forested land area (including the forested area and the unforested area) is 333,049.84 ha.
Of which, the forest area is 262,994.45 ha (natural forest 106,671.55 ha, plantation forest 156,322.90 ha); unforested area 70,055.39 ha.
The area of forest land eligible for calculation of the province's coverage rate, excluding scattered trees, is 262,994.45 ha, the forest coverage rate is 51.01%.
If the province's area includes scattered trees, the forest coverage rate will reach 52%.
The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for directing the Provincial Forest Protection Department to continue monitoring annual forest developments, updating information in the database.
It will implement the management, exploitation, use and archiving of dossiers and databases on forest developments in the province according to regulations.
It will provide data and maps on the current status of forest resources and forest planning land for relevant departments, branches, localities and units to use for socio-economic development in the province.
The Department of Natural Resources and Environment, the Department of Statistics of the province and related units closely coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in managing, exploiting and using information and data on the current status of forests in the area provincial table, ensuring consistency between the results of statistics and land inventory and the results of annual forest monitoring.
Chairpersons of People's Committees of districts, towns and cities are responsible for state management of forests and forestry land according to the provisions of the Law on Forestry.
It will organize the management, protection, development of forests and land use planning for forestry according to regulations; use forest status data to implement the Sustainable Forestry Development Program annual national target programs and update next year's forest developments in accordance with regulations.
