Activities responding to World Oceans Day

They are requested to focus on propagandizing: The Party's viewpoints and undertakings; the State's policies and laws countries, international law on seas and islands; the lawful and legitimate rights and interests of Vietnam at sea; location, role and importance of seas, islands and oceans; resources and environment of sea and islands in sustainable development.

They organize a series of activities in response to World Oceans Day and Vietnam Sea and Islands Week 2023: 

• Hang banners, posters and posters on the theme of Sea and Islands Week and World Oceans Day;

• Organize seminars, conferences, seminars and forums on management, exploitation and rational, efficient, fair and sustainable use of marine and island resources;

• Control pollution of the marine environment;

• Protect, maintain and restore marine, coastal and island biodiversity;

• Preserve and promote the values of natural heritage and marine cultural heritage; safe and sustainable fishing and fishing, proactively and effectively responding to climate change and sea level rise;

• Conduct scientific investigation and research on seas and islands in service of socio-economic development activities, ensuring national defense and security.

• Strengthen the management of over the collection, transportation and treatment of waste and plastic waste along the coast and in Ly Son district;

• Encourage research on the sea, islands, marine environment-friendly production and business activities;

• Organize activities with the participation of the community;

• Launch community movements, clean up the marine environment, collect and treat waste;

• Organize the groundbreaking, construction and handover of environmental protection works for the benefit of the community and sustainable development of the marine economy, adapting to climate change.

• Improve the effectiveness of propaganda, communication and external information on sea and islands.

• Mass media agencies increase the duration and frequency of propaganda activities in response to Vietnam Seas and Islands Week and World Oceans Day 2023.

• Propagandize an advanced example in the activities of marine economic development, protection of sea and island sovereignty;

• Build marine ecological culture; increase awareness, knowledge and understanding of the sea and ocean to all levels, branches and people of all walks of life;

• Increase confidence and aspiration for sustainable development of the marine economy, maintaining sovereignty over seas and islands, and turning Vietnam into a strong maritime nation.

• Promptly reward and honor organizations, individuals, communities and businesses that have made effective and practical contributions to the rational use of resources, protection of the marine environment and islands as well.
