Activities responding to World Environment Day

Following the guidance of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on organizing activities to respond to World Environment Day (June 5) and World Oceans Day (June 8) in 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued the Document No. 2385/UBND-KTN directing heads of agencies, units and localities to pay attention to directing and organizing the implementation of key contents for environmental protection in the province. 
Tasks of functional departments and agencies
Responding to World Environment Day and the Month of Action for the Environment, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested agencies and organizations to:
- Propaganda and implement the provisions of the Law on Environmental Protection in 2020 and mechanisms, policies and laws on environmental protection;
- Effectively implement the Project "Strengthening propaganda on plastic waste prevention and control in the period of 2021 -2025"
- Implement preferential policies for enterprises producing environmentally friendly products and recycling enterprises.
- Strengthen research and transfer advanced technologies to recycle plastic waste into useful and environmentally friendly products.
- Promote the development of infrastructure and services of collecting and recycling plastic waste.
- Collect, classify and treat domestic waste and plastic waste at source.
- Mass media agencies increase the duration and frequency of propaganda on activities, tasks, contents and topics on environmental protection.
- Implement the replication of effective models in organizing the collection, classification and treatment of domestic waste and plastic waste at source.
Localities
Districts, towns and cities are requested to:
- Deploy the army to clean and treat garbage at black spots and pollute plastic waste in rivers, lakes and coasts.
- Praise and reward organizations, individuals, communities and enterprises with typical achievements and initiatives in environmental protection activities;
- Launch a campaign to join hands to reduce plastic waste by taking practical actions such as establishing an alliance to say no to non-biodegradable plastic bags and single-use plastic products;
- Step up activities of recovery, recycling and reuse of non-degradable plastic bags and disposable plastic products;
- Encourage consumers to use environmentally friendly products.
- Hang banners, posters at agencies, units and public places to promote the dissemination of the theme of World Environment Day 2023.
