"Heart for children" provides free check-ups for 1,000 children

In two days of January 8-9, the Provincial Public Relations Committee in combination with the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Provincial Red Cross Society and the Provincial Vietnam Youth Union and the Volunteer Doctors Association of Ho Chi Minh City held the "Heart for children” program in Quang Ngai province.
Accordingly, the HCMC Volunteer Doctors Association directly provided free heart disease screening for 1,000 children with difficult circumstances in Ba To and Mo Duc districts, thereby discovering that some children needed surgery and treatment.
Doctor Do Nguyen Tin, Chairman of the HCMC Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Association, Head of the Delegation of Volunteer Doctors, said that screening is a measure to help detect and treat congenital heart disease early. Children with difficult circumstances, after being screened, if found to have heart disease; doctors provide advice and guidance for early intervention and treatment. If surgery is indicated, all treatment costs will be supported free of charge.
The program "Heart for children" with the aim of not only curing heart disease but also bringing a fuller life, a brighter future to the children and helping their families overcome the fear of illness.
