Chairing the regular July meeting, PPC's chairman Nguyen Hoang Giang urges units to closely follow the tasks set forth

Quang Ngai's economy maintained stable development

Reporting on the province's socio-economic situation in the first 7 months of the year, Director of the Department of Planning and Investment, Nguyen Van Trong said that the consumer price index increased by 3.28%.  

Total retail sales of consumer goods and services increased by 9.2%.  

Export turnover increased by 10.7%, and import turnover increased by 18.2%. 

Revenue from transportation and warehousing activities increased by 13.2%.

The industrial production index in July decreased by 4.32%.

Some products increased over the same period, such as Iron and steel, fiber, leather shoes, commercial electricity, milk of all kinds, and beer.

The province's total public investment capital plan in 2024 is more than VND 6,902 billion.  

By July 31, the province had disbursed about VND 1,183 billion, reaching 17.1% of the assigned plan.  

Total state budget revenue in the province in the first 7 months was estimated at nearly 17,152 billion VND, up 14.4% over the same period last year and equal to 67.1% of the annual estimate.

Since the beginning of the year, investment certificates have been granted  to two foreign investment projects with a registered capital of USD 14.11 million.

Five projects were granted investment policies with a total registered capital of VND 3,013 billion.  

In 7 months, 448 new enterprises were established, an increase of 8.2% over the same period.

The socio-cultural field was effectively implemented

Cultural and sports activities were actively organized, meeting the needs of entertainment of provincial people.  

The 2024 high school graduation exam in the province took place safely and seriously, the percentage of students in the province who passed the high school graduation was 98.38%.  

The inspection, prevention and control of epidemics and medical examination and treatment for the people were well implemented.  

Social security and welfare were implemented by all levels and sectors in a timely and effective manner.  

Activities to pay gratitude and celebrate the 77th anniversary of War Invalids - Martyrs Day were effectively organized.  

National defense and security have been strengthened, social order and safety have been maintained.

In addition to the achieved results, there were still some limitations and difficulties. 

In July, no new foreign and domestic investment projects were granted. Land use levy collection was very low. Compensation and site clearance in some localities were still slow. Disbursement of public investment capital was low.

Speaking at the conclusion of the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Nguyen Hoang Giang, emphasized that in order to well perform the tasks of socio-economic development, the province needs to closely follow the conclusions at regular Central Government meetings, the Conclusions of the Provincial Party Committee, and the Resolution of the Provincial People's Council.  

In the last months of 2024, it is necessary to accelerate further to successfully complete the set tasks. 

The Chairman asked the heads of agencies, units and localities to review the tasks set out in the key work program in the third quarter of 2024, to focus on completing tasks on schedule and ensuring quality as planned.

Additionally, they should proactively and urgently develop a draft resolution to submit to the Provincial People's Council in the September 2024 thematic session.  

Moreover, they are asked to accelerate the implementation of key projects, especially projects and works to celebrate the XXI Provincial Party Congress.  

They must also accelerate the disbursement of public investment in 2024 to ensure the effective implementation of the National Target Programs, the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program. 

Furthermore, they should strengthen the implementation of solutions to collect the state budget and spend local budgets strictly and effectively.
