Digital transformation needs to be done quickly, efficiently and comprehensively

On August 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh chaired the 3rd online meeting of the National Committee on Digital Transformation with localities to assess digital transformation in the first 6 months of the year, implementing tasks in the coming time.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dang Van Minh presided at the Quang Ngai bridge point.

In the opening speech, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that digital transformation is an inevitable trend to help promote economic development; improve labor productivity, competitiveness and promote three strategic breakthrough tasks including institutions, human resources, and infrastructure.

The Prime Minister asked the community to implement quickly, effectively and comprehensively.

According to a report of the Ministry of Information and Communications, in the first 6 months of 2022, the indicators on the percentage of businesses using e-invoices, the proportion of e-commerce revenue in total retail sales, and the percentage of people aged 15 years and over have a payment account exceeding the assigned plan.

The Ministry of Information and Communications has compiled and published 55 CBA problems of ministries, branches and localities, and 21 stories of Vietnamese students from ministries, branches, localities and businesses to spread initiatives, practices, and experiences , lessons, reference models about colleges.

In terms of digital infrastructure, mobile telecommunications businesses have deployed coverage of 477/832 villages with telecommunications waves.

Specialized data transmission networks of Party and State agencies connecting 4 administrative levels continue to be developed, creating a stable and secure transmission infrastructure connecting information systems in service of the Digital Government.

Up to now, the network has connected to 100% of districts; more than 97% of communes nationwide. The proportion of added value of the digital economy in GDP by the end of the first 6 months was estimated at 10.41%.

Concluding the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that up to now, awareness of community has increased. Infrastructure, platforms, human resources, network safety and security ... increasingly meet the needs of digital transformation.

However, the Prime Minister noted that there are still points to be overcome when it comes to network safety and security. The implementation of digital institutions is still slow; digital infrastructure has developed but has not made a breakthrough. The quality and efficiency of online public services needs to continue to improve…
