The Prime Minister chairs the 11th meeting of the State's Steering Committee for national key transport projects and works

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, and leaders of relevant departments, units and localities on May 8 attended the 11th meeting of the State's Steering Committee for national key transport projects and works chaired by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.
According to the report at the conference, 34 national key projects, 86 component projects are being implemented in 46 provinces and cities.
There are 5 railway projects, 2 airport projects, and the rest are road projects, mainly highways, and ring roads in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, the Ministry of Transport and localities reported on the implementation of key works and projects in the transport sector.
They also pointed out the shortcomings, limitations, difficulties and problems related to compensation, site clearance, construction materials, and construction organization.
Many solutions to accelerate the progress of key projects in the transportation sector were also raised at the conference.
Addressing at the meeting, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised ministries, units and localities for the workloads.
Since there are only seven months left for implementation of these projects, the Prime Minister asked them to be more active and drastic in directions and management.
They were directed to supervise, inspect, closely follow the construction site, and focus on removing difficulties and obstacles.
The Prime Minister asked them to ensure progress, quality, technical aestheticism, safety, and environmental assurance.
Localities were requested to mobilize all resources to kick off the site clearance work on schedule, and to accelerate the construction of resettlement areas as well.
