The NA deputies’ delegation of Quang Ngai meet fishermen voters

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, representatives of coastal localities and departments participated in the meeting.

Representatives from the NA deputies’ delegation of Quang Ngai Province informed voters of the schedule and contents of the seventh session of the 15th National Assembly.

The 7th session will open on May 20, 2024 and conclude on June 27, 2024.

At this session, the National Assembly will ratify 10 laws and 3 resolutions. 

It will also consider and decide on socio-economic issues, the state budget and other important issues.

At the meeting, fishermen voters requested the Central Government to continually implement policies to support fishermen working offshore.

Voters also proposed authorities at all levels to focus on investing in upgrading fishing ports and storm shelters, fire protection systems at fishing ports, and carrying out dredging, and upgrading mooring pools of ships in some localities.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Tran Phuoc Hien, confirmed to solve issues proposed by fishermen within provincial authorities.

He said that the province would request the Central Government to study and promulgate more comprehensive fisheries development policies, support investment in fishing port projects, storm shelter anchorage areas for ships according to the plan. 

Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Dang Ngoc Huy, acting as head of the NA deputies’ delegation of Quang Ngai, highly appreciated the opinions and recommendations of voters.

He emphasized that the implementation of policies for fishermen is very important to promptly support fishermen. 

Huy noted that fishermen in the province well comply with the State's regulations on fishing activities, and disaster prevention, Especially, they must not violate regulations on IUU fishing.  

For proposals within the competence of the Central Government, they shall receive and synthesize them for transmission to the National Assembly, the Central Government and functional ministries for consideration and settlement according to regulations.
