110 scholarships and Tet gifts to disabled children

​Attending the ceremony were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat - Member of the Party Central Committee, National Assembly Delegate, President of Ho Chi Minh City National University; Vice Chairman of the PPC Dang Ngoc Dzung; representatives of the Development Fund of Ho Chi Minh City National University and the departments and sectors of the province.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Dang Ngoc Dzung thanked the sharing and concern of Ho Chi Minh City National University in general and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thanh Dat in particular towards pupils with disabilities in Quang Ngai.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Director of Vo Hong Son Center said that the Center currently takes care of nearly 150 students, of which, two-thirds are boarding students, therefore, the center’s teachers are always on duty 24/24 to take care of and teach them the smallest works such as eating, dressing, sleeping, etc.

In an effort to help the children integrate into the community, the Center has been piloting an early intervention class for deaf children. In addition, they also participate in classes of sewing, computer incineration, hand embroidery and photoshop techniques. From these classes, they could create many products to sell such as masks, sunscreen cap, etc.

At the ceremony, Ho Chi Minh City National University awarded 110 scholarships worth VND 01 million each and gave Tet gifts to students at the center.

On this occasion, the Viet Nguyen Construction Joint Stock Company also sponsored the center's activities with the total amount of VND 50 million; Mrs. Doan Thi Truc sponsored VND 15 million and Mrs. Dao Thi Xuan sponsored VND 15 million.

In addition, VNU-HCM City also donated VND 10 million to the teachers of Vo Hong Son Center for Disabled Children.
